    • 2011 NATURAL DRAFTING ORDER

    Published on August 8, 2011

After last Sunday’s Draft Lottery between the two lowest-placed teams this season, we now have a
clearer picture of the drafting order for the 2011 PBA Rookie Draft which will be held on August 28,
2011 at the Midtown of Robinson’s Place Manila.

Powerade won the Lottery with PBA chairman Rene Pardo choosing the Tigers’ envelope. Coach Bo
Perasol will now have the chance to select from the rookie grab bag, one seen by many to be the
    deepest in recent years.

Air21, which lost the Lottery, will get to switch places with Powerade in the second round. The
Express will pick first in the second round while the Tigers choose second.

    1st RD ORDER OF DRAFT

    1.	Powerade
    2.	Air21
    3.	Meralco
    4.	Rain or Shine
    5.	B-Meg
    6.	Alaska
    7.	Barako Bull/Petron Blaze
    8.	Barako Bull/Petron Blaze
    9.	Barangay Ginebra
    10.	Talk N Text

The draft order given above is the natural order of draft, meaning this still does not take into
consideration the trades made by the teams.

So far, all but the 7th and 8th picks have been decided. In the event Petron wins the 2011
Governors’ Cup title, the Boosters will have the 8th pick, with Barako Bull getting No. 7. If Talk
n Text wins, Petron takes the 7th pick and Barako Bull the 8th pick.

In determining the order of drafting, 40 percent weight is given to a team’s finish in the
Philippine Cup, 30 percent to a team’s finish in the Commissioner’s Cup and 30 percent to a
team’s finish in the Governors’ Cup.

Because it failed to participate in the final two conferences of the season, Barako Bull was not
given a rank, and therefore had no corresponding points value in the computation.

      SWEET REDEMPTION
TALK 'N Text's latest achievement tastes extra-sweet, but it has little time to savor it. Tropang Texters coach Chot Reyes may want to just "rest and forget basketball" for a while, but the mid-season PBA Commissioner's Cup starts Feb. 10, making it imperative that their respite be a short one. Motivation...

WATCH OUT FOR TIGERS' GROWL IN COMMISSIONER'S CUP
For the Powerade Tigers, it’s just so hard not to be upbeat for the coming PBA Commissioner’s Cup following their Cinderella ride in the Philippine Cup and their acquisition of a prized import. “We’re excited for the second conference with Dwayne...

      LA MAKING HAY
LA Tenorio is bent on playing while his injured elbow continues to hold up. If his game results in a win for Alaska, so much the better. That is why Tenorio's jubilation was extra double after being named the Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week...
