Bridgeman in, McKines out as San Miguel tries to get back on winning track

SAN Miguel Beer parades a new import in Terik Bridgeman as the grand slam seeking team hopes to get back on the winning track in the PBA Governors Cup.

Bridgeman gets his baptism of fire against the Alaska Aces in a Petron Saturday Special game at the Angeles University Foundation gym. He replaces Wendell McKines, who has been relegated to the team's reserve/injury list.

Game time is at 5 p.m.

The new import comes on board amidst the 103-100 loss the Beermen suffered at the hands of the NLEX Road Warriors last week that pushed them in the middle of the standings with a 3-2 record.

MCkines is actually not doing bad for the Beermen, but team manager Gee Abanilla stressed the move to bring in a new import was made in 'consideration of our current team composition and health status.'

"We welcome Mr. Bridgeman and hope that he could provide the things we need in order for us to be successful this conference," he said.

Bridgeman and the Beermen will be up against an Alaska team that is frantic of scoring a breakthrough win in the season-ending conference.

So far, the Aces are winless in six outings in the tournament and 14 overall dating back to April during the Commissioner's Cup.

Alaska is coming off a 94-80 setback against co-leader Barangay Ginebra at the Hoops Dome in Cebu City last week and will be needing to win this one against the Beermen as it try to remain in the hunt for a berth in the quarterfinals.
