Long slumber over for Alaska with stunning win over SMB

ANGELES CITY - Alaska finally broke the longest losing streak in franchise history, and remarkably, came at the expense of a mighty team as San Miguel Beer.??

Playing with fire in their eyes, the Aces sustained a hot start and held on for a rousing 90-79 victory over the Beermen to finally barge in the win column of the PBA Governors Cup Saturday night at the Angeles University Foundation gym here.??

Import Buck Henton led Alaska's inspired play in the Petron Saturday Special game by firing away 36 points and 15 rebounds in the win that put a stop to the Aces' bleeding after losing 15 straight games dating back from April during the Commissioner's Cup.??

The losing skid was the worst ever in Alaska franchise history.??

While it was only the first win in seven outings for the Aces in the season-ending meet, they somehow kept alive their flickering hopes of making the quarterfinals at the last minute.??
