Che'Lu Bar and Grill, Go for Gold face off for title

It all comes down to this.

Go for Gold and Che'Lu Bar and Grill jostle for one final time, with the winner hoisting the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the end of Thursday night.

It's only the sixth time in league history that the championship round reached a deciding game, and it's expected to be another classic duel between the rivals at 5 p.m. at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

For the Revellers, this gives them a chance for redemption after finishing as bridesmaids to Zark's Burger-Lyceum in the Aspirants' Cup and hopefully, giving coach Stevenson Tiu the PBA D-League title he has long coveted.

"Sinabi ko na sa kanila na nangyari na sa atin yung ganyan. Tinanong ko sila kung gusto ba ulit nilang mag-runner up?," the seasoned mentor challenged his wards, one which was answered with an 88-81 Game 4 victory to set up this winner-take-all match.

Tiu is going all-in to his trusted lieutenants in Conference MVP Jeff Viernes, Jessie Collado, and Stephen Siruma in helping Che'Lu stop the heartbreak.

But equally motivated will be the Scratchers.

Coach Charles Tiu is well aware of the prowess his side has, and he knows it would be a pity if this group doesn't get the job done.

"On paper, alam namin yung lakas ng team namin. We know we have the capacity to win the title. These guys are winners, eh. It's just a matter of the boys doing what they have to do," he said.

Go for Gold will lean on Gab Banal, Paul Desiderio, and Matt Salem to be only the eighth franchise to cop a crown in the developmental ranks.
