Marinerong Pilipino and Che'Lu Bar and Grill test each other's mettle on Monday in the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
But they won't be on an even pedestal given the differing situations they are on when they face off at 1 p.m.
For one, the Skippers are enjoying a TIP core which was bolstered by the additions of premier guards Trevis Jackson and Robbie Manalang.
That solid group allowed Marinerong Pilipino to take the easy 95-83 win over AMA Online Education last week, much to the delight of coach Koy Banal.
"Hindi na masyadong nahirapan yung players sa adjustments because they know each other," he said.
The same can't be said for the Revellers, which had undergone a huge roster turnover after their runner-up finish in Aspirants' Cup.
"Naubusan kami ng mga players, kaya sa mga natitira, mas kailangan naming pag-igihan ang trabaho namin sa conference na ito," lamented coach Stevenson Tiu after his side's 94-78 defeat to CEU on Thursday.
Lucky for Che'Lu, Jeff Viernes is back in the fold as the go-to scorer has expressed his full commitment for the squad this conference.
It has yet to be seen, though, if he'll have enough support from his teammates to sink the Skippers.
