AMA holds off Batangas-EAC in double overtime

AMA Online Education kept its poised down the stretch to beat Batangas-EAC, 122-119, in double overtime Monday in the 2019 PBA D-League at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

Franky Johnson scored the Titans' last nine points to help the team dispatched the gritty Generals and finally end their three-game losing slide.

The Fil-Am swingman collected 37 points and Joshua Munzon dropped 38 points and had 16 boards to show the way for AMA.

The Titans had two chances to win the game in regulation and first overtime but Munzon couldn't capitalize.

Then Johnson struck late, as AMA broke a 113-all deadlock with 1:43 to play and held on the lead the rest of the way.

Ryan Arambulo turned in a double-double with his 18 points, 12 rebounds while Embons Bonleon got 11 points and eight boards off the bench for AMA.

The Titans improved to 2-3 in the Aspirants Group, while sending the valiant Batangas-EAC to its fourth straight loss for a 1-5 card.

Earvin Mendoza and Cedric de Joya had 26 points apiece for the Generals.
