Finals berth at stake in La Salle versus St. Clare duel

ECOOIL-La Salle and Adalem Construction-St. Clare joust for one final time Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum when they play Game Three of their 2022 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup semifinals series.

The Green Archers and the Saints face off at 11 a.m., with the winner progressing to the best-of-three championship series.

Adalem-St. Clare finally got over the hump in Game Two, taking the 72-64 win to force this decider as Johnsherick Estrada and Joshua Fontanilla both played big for their side.

"Gusto namin laging manalo kaya kahit mahirap, gagawa at gagawa kami ng way," said coach Jinino Manansala who earned a measure of revenge at EcoOil-La Salle after losing their first two games.

The Green Archers, however, remain as the favorites as the two-seed crew are driven to bounce back behind the frontline combo of Kevin Quiambao and Michael Phillips.

Coach Derick Pumaren's eyes, however, is on the guards as he expects big bounce back games from Schonny Winston and Evan Nelle.

"We can't be complacent. We have to respect St. Clare because they're still a champion team," said the veteran mentor. (RL)
