Ironcon-UST guns no. 2 seed, takes on also-ran Family Mart-Enderun

IRONCON-UST is in a must-win situation when it takes on lowly Family Mart-Enderun Thursday in the 2019 PBA D-League at JCSGO Gym.

The Growling Tigers' fate hangs in the balance in the 2 p.m. game, with a win clinching them the no. 2-seed in the Aspirants Group that comes with a twice-to-beat advantage.

Lose, however, and Ironcon-UST bows out of the tournament as it holds an inferior quotient against St. Clare, Go for Gold-CSB, and Che'Lu Bar and Grill.

That's why coach Aldin Ayo wants to see the best from his wards led by rookies Soulemane Chabi Yo, Mark Nonoy, and Rhenz Abando for the Growling Tigers' last eliminations assignment.

"Kailangan namin yung mga ganitong laro para sa maturity ng mga players namin," he said.

The Titans, on the other hand, are motivated to end their maiden D-League campaign with a flurry, especially after showing great promise in its 77-72 defeat to Che'Lu last Monday.

Valandre Chauca and ex-pros Marvin Hayes and Fonso Gotladera will carry the load for Family Mart-Enderun in the closer.
