Italiano's Homme shoots for back-to-back wins, TIP determined to bounce back

ITALIANO'S Homme guns for back-to-back wins when it faces Technological Institute of the Philippines in the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup on Thursday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The newcomers are looking to build on their impressive 123-107 debut versus McDavid-La Salle Araneta last July 29 when it faces an equally motivated Engineers.

Italiano's Homme only had eight warm bodies against the Archers much to the concern of coach Allen Ricardo, but the starters led by Paolo Pontejos and Francis Munsayac got them going.

The former San Beda Red Cubs duo relived their old days as they combined for 46 points in that conquest.

"Oo, naging magkakampi na yan. So madali na lang sa kanila maka-adjust sa amin. I go straight to the point sa pagbigay ng instructions sa kanila," said Ricardo of his backcourt tandem, who are once again expected to be at the forefront of their attack against TIP.

But standing on Italiano's Homme's way in the 1:30 p.m. bout is an Engineers side hungry to get back on track.

TIP is coming off a stinging 70-85 loss to BRT Sumisip Basilan-St. Clare last Monday, which snapped its two-game winning streak and spoiled its bid to snag Group B leadership.

Senegalese big man Papa Ndiaye is keen on bouncing back as well for the Engineers after being held to just nine points on a dismal 2-of-11 shooting in their loss to the Saints.

TIP will also bank on twin towers Bryan Santos and Ivan Santos in its quest to redeem itself versus Italiano's Homme.
