iWalk eyes back-to-back wins vs. winless Nailtalk-Savio

IWALK aims for back-to-back wins as it goes up against the struggling Nailtalk-St. Dominic Savio in the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Chargers are on a high following their breakthrough win at the expense of Hazchem last Monday, which gave former PBA champion Jonas Villanueva his first win as head coach.

Villanueva said that he's still trying to learn the tools of the trade of coaching, so knowing his players more and putting them in positions to succeed is his primary goal for now.

And that's the same approach he's taking when his Chargers lock horns with the Unicorns at 5:30 p.m.

"Rather than putting a system, I'm adjusting to my players. I'll adjust to their strengths. Also, sa kanila, kung saan sila comfortable. For now, yun muna ginagawa ko," Villanueva said.

Wowie Escosio, Jasper Pasker, and Allan Mangahas are expected to spearhead iWalk's assault against Nailtalk-Savio, which is the only winless team in Group A so far with a 0-3 card.

Nailtalk-Savio's recent loss was last August 12 against Asia's Lashes Tomas Morato, 82-77. The John Labrador-coached Unicorns have been losing by an average of 32 points.
