GAB Banal scored 27 points and had 12 rebounds and Marinerong Pilipino put away Perpetual, 90-76, on Tuesday to stay in contention for the fourth and last playoff spot in the 2019 PBA D-League at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Santi Santillan scattered 21 points to go with his 17 rebounds to help the Skippers battle back from an early 12-point deficit and grab a 50-36 halftime lead.
Art Aquino added 13 points and five rebounds for the Skippers, who closed out the eliminations with 5-4 (win-lost) record in the Foundation's Group.
Marinerong Pilipino can advance to the playoffs should Centro Escolar University beat Far Eastern University next week. The Skipper and the Tamaraws are disputing the last playoff berth.
Despite of the uncertainty surrounding their future, coach Yong Garcia said he is pleased of the outcome of their last game.
