Poligrates named Foundation Cup MVP

Eloy Poligrates' bid of making it back to the PBA got a solid boost after being crowned the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Most Valuable Player Wednesday at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The 31-year-old Cebuano posted per-game averages of 21.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.6 steals through the semifinals as he steered the Skippers to their first-ever Finals trip.

Poligrates also made history this conference, setting the PBA D-League record for most points scored with a 67-point showing in Marinerong Pilipino's 141-97 conquest of iWalk last August 26.

"Masaya kasi natanggap ko 'tong award na 'to," said Poligrates.

The former Talk N Text guard beat BRT Sumisip Basilan-St. Clare floor general Joshua Fontanilla, CEU forward Rich Guinitaran, and TIP big man Bryan Santos for the award.
