Unbeaten CEU tries to keep winning streak against Marinerong Pilipino

CENTRO Escolar University seeks to preserve its immaculate record in the 2019 PBA D-League when it collides against Marinerong Pilipino Tuesday at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

The Scorpions remain as the only unbeaten team in the league with its 5-0 (win-lost) record.

the latest being a 93-69 thumping of CD14 Designs-Trinity last Monday.

And a big reason for that has been their defense, which ranks second-best in the league. The Scorpions allowed their opponents to scores no more than 70.4 points a game.

"We have been winning because of our defense and we have to stay true to that," said coach Derrick Pumaren.

The presence of Senegalese big man Maodo Malick Diouf in the middle also opens opportunity for gunners like Rich Guinitaran, Tyron Chan, and Judel Fuentes.

But the Skippers believe they have what it takes to beat the Scorpions in their 1 p.m.duel.

Santi Santillan has been playing consistent and Marinerong Pilipino coach Yong Garcia is pleased that others like Orlan Wamar, Anton Asistio, and Kib Montalbo are just as impressive.

Their ability was in full view back on March 25, when the Skippers blasted CD14-Trinity, 91-72.

Garcia hopes his troops would be able to stay in the groove to improve on their 3-2 record in the Foundation Group.
