UST sinks Marinerong Pilipino, keeps playoff hopes alive

BUILDERS Warehouse-UST kept its hot streak going, this time scalping Marinerong Pilipino, 88-80, to keep its playoff hopes alive in the 2022 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Sherwin Concepcion, fresh from his triple-double performance a day prior, stayed sizzling with his 18 points built from four treys, to go with 10 rebounds as the Growling Tigers completed the sweep of their back-to-back assignments and rose to a 2-4 record.

Nic Cabanero also dropped 18 points on 3-of-5 shooting from deep, alongside eight boards, three assists, two steals, and two blocks for Builders Warehouse-UST which shot 15-of-33 from distance in this must win game.

Bryan Santos pumped 16 points from four treys off the bench, as Kean Baclaan had 15 for the Growling Tigers.

"I'm so happy sa mga players natin kasi nagre-respond sila. Ineembrace na nila yung sistema na binibigay," said coach Albert Alocillo. "Gusto lang talaga naming manalo."
