Go for Gold attempts to finish off Che-Lu Bar and Grill in Game Four of the 2018 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Finals on Tuesday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
"Now, our players know what's at stake. So not to pressure them or anything, but we just have to win and play on Tuesday. Sana kami naman yung mag-three in a row sa Che'Lu."
The Scratchers holds a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-five series and could hoist the championship with another win in the 5 p.m. matchup.
Che'Lu Bar and Grill took Game 1 but Go for Gold bounced back in the Games 2 and 3 on the heroics of Gab Banal and Paul Desiderio respectively.
Coach Charles Tiu believes his players are motivated and determined to close out the series.
"I'll be honest, and don't look at it as I'm saying it arrogantly, but I kept telling the guys that we were the better team. Talent-wise, on paper, lahat sabihin mo na. It's just that Che'Lu was the hungrier team and they outplayed us every time," Tiu said.
Desiderio, who took charge in Game 3, and Banal, a contender for the best player of the tournament award, will once again play a major role in the Scratchers' bid to clinch the championship.
However, a vengeful Che'Lu side awaits as Jeff Viernes and company try to force a decider and avoid another runner-up finish. The Revellers lost to Zark's Burger in the Finals of last conference's Aspirants' Cup.
"Our mindset will be no retreat, no surrender," said coach Stevenson Tiu, whose wards are determined to live for another game.
"We'll do our best to force a Game Five."
