Al-Hussaini lifts NLEX past Alaska in tune-up game

Rabeh Al-Hussaini caught fire in the third quarter as NLEX overcame its sluggish start to turn back Alaska, 106-100, Monday in a preseason tune-up game at Upper Deck Gym in Pasig.

The resurgent Road Warriors center poured 12 of his 21 points as he went 3-of-3 from beyond the arc to allow his side to overcome a 12-point deficit to grab an 83-79 third quarter lead.

Al-Hussaini's explosion allowed NLEX to turn things around as the Road Warriors went on a 35-point tear in the third frame before Larry Fonacier and Cyrus Baguio put on the finishing touches.

Raul Soyud chimed in 18 markers and seven rebounds, while Asi Taulava had 12 points and five boards. Second overall pick Kiefer Ravena had nine markers, five assists, and two rebounds for NLEX.

Calvin Abueva topped Alaska with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists.
