Andray Blatche set to join NLEX practice sessions

Coach Yeng Guiao believes it would be in the best interest of Andray Blatche if he joins NLEX practices.

Gilas Pilipinas holds its practices twice a week but Guiao wants Batche to attend the Road Warriors practice sessions starting Monday to get him in shape at the soonest possible time before the Nationals leave for Foshan, China next month for the FIBA World Cup.

The set up is not new to Blatche, who also joined the NLEX and Rain or Shine practices last February in preparation for the sixth window of the World Qualifier.

"We're still having limitations with our practice schedule at Gilas, but we'll try to find a way to give him extra days of practice," Guiao said of Blatche, who attended his first practice with Gilas on Monday at the Meralco Gym.

"We'll also bring him to our (NLEX) practices so that he can practice on a daily basis," Guiao said.

Blatche said he hopes to be in tip top shape in the next two weeks.

"We still have enough time to get Blatche in better shape," Guiao said. "We're looking forward for him to get even better, sharper and quicker." (JT)
