Arwind Santos, June Mar Fajardo believe Terrence Romeo will be a lot better in the finals

Arwind Santos and June Mar Fajardo are happy to see Terrence Romeo makes his first PBA Finals appearance after six-years.

Santos and Fajardo believe that Romeo will be all the more motivated to perform at the highest level to help San Miguel in its bid to win a fifth straight Philippine Cup crown.

"Malamang mas tataas ang kumpiyansa niya at isa yun sa magpapalakas sa San Miguel," said Santos of his fellow FEU alumnus after SMB closed out Phoenix in Game 5 of their best-of-seven series on Thursday at the Astrodome.

Fajardo, who played alongside Romeo on many occasions with the national team, echoed Santos' sentiments.

"Sana tuloy-tuloy nilalaro niya, malaking factor siya sa finals," said Fajardo.

Playing in the PBA's biggest stage is certainly a dream come true for Romeo, who was selected by GlobalPort in the 2013 draft.

Romeo came close to making his Finals appearance in the 2016 Philippine Cup, but GlobalPort lost to Alaska in five games of their semi-final series.

Disappointments with GlobalPort and later with TNT KaTropa have seen Romeo openly showing his frustration, though Fajardo claimed that the multi-time scoring champion has been nothing but a model teammate from the time he joined SMB.

Santos is confident that Romeo, who averaged 13.0 points on 35 percent shooting in the semis, will be lot better in the Finals.

(JT)
