Batang PBA: Cavitex, Blackwater arrange semis duel in 14-Under division

CAVITEX and Blackwater Red President arranged a semifinal duel in the 14-Under division, beating their respective opponents in contrasting fashions at the start of the 2023 Batang PBA quarterfinals Sunday at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.

Group B topnotcher Batang Red President picked up where they left off by trashing Group C second seed Converge, 108-51, while Group D second seed Cavitex stunned Group C leader and erstwhile unbeaten Talk 'N Text, 68-51.

All players scored for the Batang Red President's 57-point win led by Neil Ysach Garcia with 13 points.

Carl Anthony Songco and Lawrence Rameses Luna added 11 each while Nickson Andwele Caba?ero and Ryle Santino Gimarangan chipped in 10 points apiece.

John Edward Corbe (11), Zac Loza?es (10) and Gabriel Dia (10) were the topscorerers for Converge.

Earlier, Audrey Kurt Lagman tallied a game-high 22 points while John Denver Sison added 10 to anchor Cavitex's comeback win.

The Batang Braves trailed, 23-29, at the break before going on a 26-2 run in third frame to pull away .

Jame Antonio Teodoro was the lone twin-digit scorer for TNT with 11 points.

The other 14-Under quarterfinal pairings and the 12-Under play will be held fire on Wednesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig. (JBU)
