Bond - not the agent but Blackwater import - is in town

IN the next few days, the Blackwater Bossing will start practicing with import Jaylen Bond.

The Norristown, Pennsylvania native arrived in the country Sunday and is now doing personal workouts while confined in a quarantine stay at the Manila Hotel.

Team owner Dioceldo Sy confirmed Bond is the latest import to fly in after Alaska Milk's Olu Ashaolu, San Miguel Beer's Brendan Brown, NLEX's KJ McDaniels, NorthPort's Cameron Forte and Terrafirma's Antonio Hester.

A power forward for Texas then with Temple in the US collegiate basketball, Bond is reinforcing a retooled Blackwater squad out to snap the team out of doldrums.

New coach Ariel Vanguardia and new players Jvee Casio, Barkley Ebona, Rashawn McCarthy, Val Chauca and Jong Baloria are in the new mix tasked for a duty to turn things around for the team after a record run of losses from the 2020 Philippine Cup to the succeeding all-Filipino tourney.

The management and the coaching staff hope Bond can help do the job.

Bond, 28, has played in Italy, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

Left undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft, Bond brought his stuff to the Westchester Knicks in the NBA D-League before suiting up with the Pistoia team in Italy, Al Nasr in the United Arab Emirates then Al-Muharraq in Bahrain.(SB)
