Chris Ross takes blame for SMB's loss in Game 3

Chris Ross blamed himself for San Miguel's defeat in Game 3 of its semi-final series against Phoenix Pulse.

Ross called his two successive fouls in the final minute -- with SMB in penalty and the game on the line - bad decision and cost the Beermen an opportunity to stretch their lead to 3-0.

"I just let my team down today," Ross said. "I made those two foolish fouls that gave them points."

The game was tied at 86-all when Ross fouled Matthew Wright and San Miguel in penalty with 49 seconds left.

Wright made both his free throws and hit two more when Ross fouled him again after a missed jumper by Alex Cabagnot.

Phoenix went on to win the Easter Sunday tussle, 92-90, to cut San Miguel's lead in the best-of-seven series to 2-1 going into Tuesday's fourth game at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Ross had a chance to bail out San Miguel after JC Intal missed two free throws but his three-pointer attempt fell short of the mark.

"I got an opportunity to take a stranglehold on the series and I let that slip," he said. (JT)
