PHOENIX Super LPG coach Topex Robinson is one to preach patience while at the same time keeping an eye out for the progress of his new-look team.
Robinson just hopes his Fuel Masters take a big step in their development when they take on the reeling Blackwater side at 2p.m. Saturday in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Phoenix is gunning for a second win in five games, but Robinson is more concerned on how his team, with its six new players and two comebacking ones, are moving towards the direction he wants it to.
"It will be a reality check of where we are as a team," said Robinson on the eve of the match.
"We just have to embrace the process and accept that we are a new team," added Robinson.

That "process" should be immensely helped along by this match.
Blackwater has so far failed in its first four games, a prolonged slide directly attributed to the fact coach Nash Racela has seven new players in his roster and is still waiting for the injured Carl Bryan Cruz and Frank Golla to fully recover and get back into game-shape.
The Bossing do have enough tools in Simon Enciso, Kelly Nabong, Mike Tolomia, Ed Daquioag and Paul Desiderio to at least compete, but they and the rest of the team have yet to get their acts fully together.
Also, Racela's frontline is really shallow right now with him being left combining Marion Magat, Jeepy Faundo, Richard Escoto and even David Semerad up front whenever Nabong has to be rested.
Now comes a Phoenix crew that should take full advantage and help the likes of Jason Perkins, Justin Chua and Vic Manuel assert their ways inside while Matthew Wright, Chris Banchero and RJ Jazul take those perimeter shots that should de-clog the middle. (NC)
