Gin Kings hold off visiting Changwon LG Sakers on Pringle's 3-point shot

BARANGAY Ginebra held off Changwon LG Sakers, 95-91, on Tuesday in their Asian Showdown 2 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Justin Brownlee finished with 27 points for the Kings, who turned to Stanley Pringle in the closing seconds of exhibition match to put the game away.

The Kings up by just two when Pringle hit a huge 3-point shot from the left corner with 9.3 seconds left that brought the predominant Ginebra crowd on their feet.

The Sakers scored a three-point play in the ensuing play to cut the deficit to two before LA Tenorio made two free throws with 0.9 seconds left to settle the final score.

Ginebra led by as much as 14-points but the visitors made the game exciting late in the fourth.

Kim Sirae sparked the rally that pulled the Sakers within, 81-82. Scottie Thompson answered with four straight points but Cady Lalanne trimmed the lead to 88-86, with 1:40 left in the game.

The Kings, who avenge their loss to the Saker last Friday, wound up their pre-conference tune-up games with a 3-1 win-loss record.
