Mo Tautuaa on trade to SMB: 'I could feel it coming'

MO Tautuaa is tempering expectations in his arrival at San Miguel Beer especially with the franchise aiming at a shot for a PBA grand slam.

Like any other player, the 6-foot-7 Fil-Tongan said he'll just do whatever job he'll be assigned by his new team in the ongoing season-ending Governors Cup.

Tautuaa was shipped by NorthPort to San Miguel on Monday in exchange for sophomore big man Christian Standhardinger.

"I just want to help. I just want to be a better player and help," said the 30-year-old Tautuaa just hours after being notified of the deal.

"They thought I can fit over here so they brought me here over SMB, so I'm going to work as hard as I can to get my job done to help the team."

Tautuaa was told about the trade while he was on his way to the Meralco gym for the Monday practice of Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 men's training pool.

Although there was an element of surprise, he said the trade was quick to sink in as he admitted hearing about it for the past months now.

"I could feel it coming," Tautuaa said.

And now that it has finally dawned on him, Tautuaa said it's now a matter of just moving forward and settling with his new team.

"It's how it works out here. You got to go with what you got," he stressed.
