Mr. Ironman continues 'NSG' (never-stop-giving) effort

FROM Facebook live auction of shoes and memorabilia, Barangay Ginebra chief playmaker LA Tenorio raised some amount as his contribution to support fund for PBA game-day personnel severely affected by the quarantine period.

Tenorio drew a total of P86,200, including a cash donation of P9,000 from Bernie Arellano, in this noble fund-raiser held in partnership with Andrew Arellano and his FB page Life With The Arellanos.

"Ang dami talagang nangangailangan ng tulong sa mga panahong ito. May kakayahan naman tayong tumulong so ginagawa natin yung makakaya natin," said Tenorio.

PBA's Mr. Ironman also intends to donate food packs to the guards and utility at the upper deck where Ginebra is holding its practices. He also intends to donate sacks of rice to the Pasig Vice Mayor Office.

"Maliit na halaga lang 'yung nakuha sa auction. Yung kakulangan, personal ko na lang. Masaya tayo basta nakakatulong," he said.

Tenorio said he is also setting aside portions of the sale to help league's ballboys, who he said are also severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic..

"Yun mga ballboys natin kailangan kailangan din nila ng tulong. Aabutan din natin sila kahit papaano."

Held Thursday, the auction got good responses from Hope Agudo, Yeshua Lagac, Romel Tamayo, Romina Alviz, Paulo Guiang, James Gabriel and Efren Macatol Jr.

Agudo acquired two pairs of shoes - Jordan Why Not Zer0.1 for P8,200 and LeBron 15 Low for P10,100 while Lagac took Jordan 5 Grapes (P7,100), Tamayo Kobe AD Multicolor (P8,300), Alviz Jordan 11 low Snakeskin (P7,500), Guiang LeBron AGIMAT (P14,000), Gabriel Jordan 4 Flyknit Volt (P14,000) and Macatol Jordan 32 Low (P8,000).

Tenorio - and many other kindhearted PBA players - has drawn commendation earlier from PBA commissioner Willie Marcial for their good deeds extending help to those badly in need in this time of crisis.

"Nakakataba ng puso ang ginagawa ng mga players natin," said Marcial
"If a list down all of his career highlights and awards as a basketball player, I would definitely run out of caption space and despite all of his accomplishments, he is the most humble person I know," said Arellano of Tenorio.

"Besides a NSA (never-say-die) attitude, he also has a NSG (never-stop-giving) one," he added. (SB)
