NLEX looking to sustain momemtun after training camp

AFTER wrapping up its training camp, NLEX is not about to take it easy and relax.

The grind continues for the Road Warriors, who are even expected to ramp up their preparation for the PBA Season 46.

Coach Yeng Guiao has scheduled a program for the team that will have it doing 5-on-5 scrimmages and individual cluster workouts alternately.

The Road Warriors are calendared to do team training in Pampanga, while group workouts will be done at the team training facility at the Epsilon Chi Center at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

The frantic training is obviously aimed to sustain the momentum NLEX gained out of the week-long training camp it held in Clark, Pampanga last week where the Road Warriors had the benefit of practicing twice-a-day under a bubble setup.

"Sayang kasi yung one week namin sa Clark. Naka-twice a day kami (doon), tapos bigla back to zero," said NLEX deputy coach Adonis Tierra.

"Kaya gusto ni coach Yeng may 5-on-5 sa Pampanga, at Manila yung skill works."

Scrimmages and group training are still not allowed in NCR Plus area which remains under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with restrictions at least until June 15.

Prior to their training camp, the Road Warriors also conducted scrimmages in Pampanga under a closed-circuit system or home-vehichle-gym and vice-versa. (RG)
