PBA Covid-19 tests netting wonderful results

THE Philippine Basketball Association can't be happier on how everyone has been conducting oneself in the closed-circuit preseason training as indicated by the wonderful results of their regular COVID-19 tests.

"It's almost perfect," said PBA commissioner Willie Marcial of their semi-bubble concept that remains intact with almost a month running now.

Two tests before the start of training and succeeding tests every 10 days all netted negative results, except one from a support staff member of one team.

Barangay Ginebra forward Joe Devance had tested positive before the PBA conducted the league-sponsored tests. The Fil-Am player shared on social media the challenges he faced.

"It's one out of 350 (the total number of individuals involved in training of the 12 PBA teams). At perfect ang resulta ng tests for the players," said Marcial.

"It shows dinidisiplina nila ang sarili nila on their own," added Marcial.
PBA officials are hopeful this can help in their bid to get the IATF's nod for PBA Season 46 kickoff late June or early July.

The league chieftain said they would finalize plans after June 15 when the government has decided on new quarantine classifications for the different regions in the country. (SB)
