PBA suspends games pending new protocols from IATF, DOH

THE PBA decided to briefly suspend games of the Philippine Cup bubble pending the new protocols proposed by the Department of Health (DoH) and the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases).

The move was in compliance with the recommendation of the Technical Working Group of the IATF and the DoH Advisory Group of Experts to ensure the integrity and safety of the league bubble.

The Friday twinbill at the Angeles University Foundation gym (powered by Smart 5G) featuring NorthPort against Magnolia and Barangay Ginebra opposite five-time defending champion San Miguel was the first scheduled doubleheader to be affected by the latest postponement of the games.

Team practices have been put on hold, too, although the use of amenities inside the Quest Hotel such as the pool, gym, and the joggin area remain open for use by all teams.

Nonetheless, the PBA extended its gratitude to the IATF, DoH, and the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) for their continuous support and guidance.
