Pringle stars as GlobalPort nips Magnolia in preseason game

STANLEY Pringle delivered GlobalPort the thrilling 83-80 victory over Magnolia in a preseason tune-up game Thursday at Claret School in Quezon City.

The former top pick poured six of his 18 points in the fourth period, on top of 10 assists, five rebounds, and two steals as the Batang Pier survived the late rally by the Hotshots.

However, it was also Pringle who kept the door wide open for Magnolia as he muffed his second freebie with 5.4 seconds remaining with GlobalPort holding on to an 83-80 lead.

Luckily, Aldrech Ramos muffed his potential overtime-forcing trey at the buzzer as the Batang Pier escaped with the W.

Ryan Ara?a added 16 points, three boards, and two dimes, while Kelly Nabong had 14 points and six rebounds for GlobalPort which played without its superstar guard Terrence Romeo.

But Magnolia remained resolute as Ramos drilled the trey to cut the deficit to just two, 82-80 with 13.0 seconds remaining, which set up the frantic finish.

Ramos shot 3-of-5 from threes to wound up with 15 points and five rebounds for the Hotshots.
