CHRISTMAS came early for rookie free agent Jielo Razon who cracked the TNT Tropang Giga lineup for the PBA Commissioner's Cup after signing a one-year deal with the franchise.
The guard out of University of Perpetual Help already saw action in both games the team played so far, though unfortunately, the reigning Governors Cup champion lost its first two assignments against Eastern and Northport.
Nonetheless, Razon remains ecstatic especially for fulfilling a childhood dream despite failing to hear his name called out on stage during the Season 49 rookie draft.
"Kasi unexpected. Pangarap lang ng mga bata na makalaro sa PBA at isa ako sa mga nakatupad," he said.
Razon didn't take it personally when not even one team took a risk on him during draft day even though he's a projected second round pick given his career path with the Altas in college.

He just thought, God has other plans for him.
"Before naman nung draft, di ako nag-expect. Kung wala, will ni God yun. May plano para sa akin. Ayun nga, napaganda pa," said Razon.
He went on and continue playing for Paranaque in the MPBL, but just days after the draft, TNT team manager Jojo Lastimosa called him up. The conversation later led to him joining the Tropang Giga in their training camp in Cebu as they prepare for the Governors' Cup campaign.
With his MPBL duties not yet over, Razon initially served as practice player for the team.
But following the end of the MPBL sixth season, he was officially signed by TNT.
Looking back, the 5-foot-11 guard said he couldn't have asked for more.

"If ever my nag-draft siguro sa akin nun, malay mo di rin ako naka-sign," said Razon. "Plano siguro ni God na di ako ma-draft pero may makakakita sa akin sa ibang way."
TNT did. (RG)
