Road Warriors outlast undermanned Beermen

NLEX staged a massive fourth quarter barrage to stun San Miguel, 103-97, in the Phoenix Super Basketball Tournament Monday at Upper Deck Gym in Pasig.

Kris Porter made big plays late, first drilling a huge three with 1:17 left to extend the Road Warriors' lead to six, 99-96, before finding an open Kenneth Ighalo for the game-sealing bucket in the final 22 seconds, 101-95.

The incoming sophomore finished with nine points, six rebounds, and two assists as NLEX took advantage of San Miguel resting its veterans in the payoff period.

His fine play was a perfect complement to the game of the other Road Warrior veterans.

JR Quinahan paced NLEX with 14 points, four assists, and three rebounds and Kiefer Ravena had 11 points, five dimes, and two boards.
