BRT-St. Clare seeks playoff spot, faces hapless McDavid

BRT Sumisip Basilan-St. Clare shoots for a playoff spot when it returns to action on Monday in the 2019 PBA D-League Foundation Cup against winless McDavid-La Salle Araneta at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Saints are coming off a 20-day break, with their last game being an 85-70 whipping of TIP back in August 5.

And for coach Stevenson Tiu, with all due respect to his foes, he doesn't feel like BRT Sumisip-St. Clare has been really tested yet through his side's first three games.

"Hindi kami ma-push to the limit, kung hanggang saan ang team namin," he said, with the Saints' average winning margin being 35.0 points. "Gusto din sana namin makakuha ng close games habang nasa eliminations para makuha din namin jelling."

Dominant as its wins are, BRT Sumisip-St. Clare will still try to finetune things as it rides Irven Palencia, Joshua Fontanilla, and Malian big man Mohammad Pare in the 1:30 p.m. Group B duel.

Meanwhile, the Stallions are just hoping for a repreive to snap their three-game losing skid.

McDavid-La Salle Araneta showed that it was capable in racking up numbers, as seen in its 144-138 defeat to Hyperwash as it scored the most points for a losing team in PBA D-League history.

Nigerian center Henry Iloka will keep his fort fighting in this game.
