Bossing vs E-Painters: Whose slump will end?

Panic mode?

Whatever, Blackwater and Rain or Shine are expected to go hammer and tongs at each other in their hope not to get buried deeper in the standings as they collide in a duel of struggling teams in a Saturday bill at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

The Bossing and the Elasto Painters clash in the 6:15 p.m. mainer.

Hitting the halfway mark of their PBA Commissioner's Cup elims campaigns, coach Jeffrey Cariaso and his Bossing are at 1-4 while coach Yeng Guiao and his ROS crew are in a tighter bind at 0-5.

Both are hard-pressed to stop their slump and start a chase if they're to make the eight-team quarterfinals cut.

The Bossing and the Elasto Painters are not actually doing very badly but just couldn't get the finishing kick to nail a win.

Blackwater dropped a 90-87 decision against Barangay Ginebra the last time out - the Bossing's fourth curiously after a rousing 103-84 win over the Converge FiberXers to start the season.

Meanwhile, the Elasto Painters, with new import Demetrius Treadwell, fought tooth and nail with the San Miguel Beermen only to fall short, 115-110, in the end.

The E-Painters, earlier, lost all four games with Dajuan Summers, yielding to the Meralco Bolts (107-102), to the NorthPort Batang Pier (113-103), to the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters (99-98), and to the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings (107-102).

It would be noted that they lost by a double-digit margin in only one game.
In all those games, Guiao rued their inability to finish strong.

Practically the same is the case for the Bossing.

And so the question is which team is going to play better in the crunch in this setto. (SB)
