Early bubble experience a factor for TnT fast start

TnT Tropang Giga credited its early feel of living in a bubble for its initial success in the PBA Philippine Cup.

Coach Bong Ravena said the team's two-week stay at the Inspire Sports Academy in Laguna somehow helped prepare the Tropang Giga get accustomed of living in a bubble-type setup.

He said their condition at Inspire Academy was even more difficult since the training facility is located inside the National University campus in Calamba.

Unlike at Clark Freeport, the Tropang Giga and the rest of the PBA family have some recreation to try out such as the golf facility, pool area, billiards hall, restaurant lounge, and gym and training room.

"Mentally, mas mahirap doon because there is no recreation in our first bubble dahil nasa loob ng campus yun," said Ravena.

"But it did help us a lot, mentally and physically."

The Tropang Giga stayed at Inspire Academy at the start of individual workouts among teams.

The end result of their bonding has obviously surfaced early into the All-Filipino conference as the team won its first three outings against Alaska, Terrafirma, and five-time defending champion San Miguel.

Still, it's too early to tell on how the tournament will play out for TnT.

But the bubble experience is definitely working out well for the Tropang Giga.(RG)
