Hollis-Jefferson excited to battle versus Brownlee

A new rival stands in the way between Ginebra's Justin Brownlee and his targeted seventh title in the PBA.

And the three-time Best Import, who's had a perfect 6-of-6 batting average since coming over in 2016, knows how hard this task is going to be against TNT's do-it-all reinforcement Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

"It's gonna be a great matchup," Brownlee said during Monday's PBA Governors' Cup finals press con presented by Arena Plus.

"Man, he's an incredible player - very versatile, very dynamic. He's just been leading TNT. Was it two or three games in a row where he got a triple double? Lots of assists, lots of poinst; he's doing everything for the team."

"But it's not just one person or myself who will try to stop or contain him. I trust coach Tim (Cone) to prepare a great game plan. So I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a fun and exciting matchup for the fans," Brownlee added.

Hollis-Jefferson shares Brownlee's excitement.

"I'm looking forward to competing against Justin. It will be a show and fans will see two wonderful players. I'm excited. Let's go," he said.

If Brownlee is seeking to continue his winning ways, Hollis-Jefferson is driven by his desire to capture a breakthrough crown.

"Justin is a phenomenal player and I love his game but it's about competing and trying to get the win at the end of the day and I feel confident in our approach, in our preparations. Day in and day out thinking about the game, sleeping about the game. Looking forward to it," said Hollis-Jefferson. (OL)
