IT'S going to be a fun-filled, nostalgic event as the PBA's greatest rivals Crispa and Toyota meet again after a long while in a grand reunion to be held before the year 2023 comes to an end.

No game will be played as the gathering is going to be a day of reminiscing about the good old days when the Tamaraws and Redmanizers engaged in a compelling rivalry that defined Asia's pioneering pro league's first decade of existence.

The two fabled franchises, among the founding members of the PBA, played in a total of 123 games and won a combined 24 championships in a 10-year span.

The affair was conceived following the 50th anniversary reunion of Toyota held last February.

Key personalities of Crispa and Toyota in PBA great and former MVP Atoy Co and Gil Cortez, the league's first ever Rookie of the Year, already sat down with Commissioner Willie Marcial and marketing director Jo Francisco on how to go about the matter that also serves as the perfect primer to the PBA's 50th anniversary celebration two years from now.

Also in the meeting were Cignal TV Channel Manager Von Reinhart Gaa and basketball chronicler Jay Mercado.

The grand reunion will also be a fund-raising drive as memorabilia, replica jerseys, and trading cards are going to be available and signed by players who will be present during the event.

Proceeds of the event would be going to a charitable institution to be selected by both teams.

Old and new fans are welcome to join the celebration that also features games, live music, and entertainment. (RG)
