PBA bubble remains intact; 4 games up on Tuesday

SMART Clark Giga City -- THE PBA bubble remains very much intact after latest round of testing showed all 12 teams are negative of COVID-19.

The league made the announcement Sunday after getting the complete result of the third cycle of testing done on teams.

The PBA briefly postponed games of the Philippine Cup on Friday as it complies with the recommended protocols by the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases).

But the second half of the eliminations will proceed by Tuesday with a rare quadruple header at the Angeles University Foundation after the league released the new schedule on Sunday.

Blackwater goes up against defending champion San Miguel in the first game of the conference resumption on Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. followed by the Terrafirma vs. Phoenix encounter at 1 p.m.

Action resumes at 4 p.m. as NorthPort takes on league leader TNT Tropang Giga before Barangay Ginebra faces Alaska in the 6:45 p.m. main game.

In all, there will be five featured quadruple headers in a nine-day span as the league bids to end the eliminations on time by Nov. 11.

There are two days where games will be a triple header and another two days for the regular doubleheader.

Meanwhile, the result of the new testing is in line with the league's stand in keeping the safety and integrity of the bubble.

"We would like to reiterate that the PBA bubble has not been breached, but we must always strengthen our protocols in consultation with the IATF and NTF (National Task Force) to ensure the safety of everyone in the bubble," said the league in an earlier statement. (RG)
