A GRATEFUL Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has given San Miguel Corp. president and chief operating officer Ramon S. Ang a well-deserved special recognition when the board of governors convened at the PBA Office Wednesday.
In a unanimous vote, the governors expressed their profound gratitude to the big boss of San Miguel Beer, Barangay Ginebra and Magnolia for taking care of the PBA family - and other sectors of society - during these trying times.
"Nakita kung ano'ng ginawang kabutihan ni Mr. Ramon Ang ng SMC group kaya karapat-dapat na kami sa board ay magpasalamat sa kanya. A resolution was unanimously approved for giving special recognition to Mr. Ramon Ang for looking after the health and safety of the PBA family - the employees and staff and everybody else in the PBA," Rosales said.
Ang has arranged for the COVID-19 testing procedure of the PBA Commissioner's Office workforce before Commissioner Willie Marcial and his staff resumed office operations this week.
San Miguel Corp has also offered similar arrangements to teams that might need assistance in testing their players, coaches and personnel according to PBA chairman Ricky Vargas, who initiated the move

"There was a discussion that since SMC has a very strong capability of testing, they might be able to help teams that need testing. They're doing a lot of testing at SMC so tulungan na rin yan," said Vargas.
Rosales said the PBA is also highly appreciative of Ang's overall efforts in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
San Miguel has previously provided testing booths and kits to all local government units in the National Capital Region (NCR) to expand the country's testing capacity.
It has also donated RT-PCR testing machines and automated RNA machines to key government hospitals.
"Nakita namin lahat ng kabutihang ginagawa ni RSA actually hindi lang sa PBA eh, nakita rin namin ang ginagawa nyang kabuhitan sa bayan and the least we can do is recognize yung kabutihang ginagawa niya," said Rosales. (OL)
