Rain or Shine coach welcomes extra day break

Rain or Shine coach Caloy Garcia welcomed the postponement of Game Two of the Commissioner's Cup semi-final series between the Ginebra Kings and Elasto Painters.

He said the extra day break provided his troops ample time to polish their game plan and figure what Ginebra did to prevent them from scoring at the post.

Ginebra took Game 1, 102-89, on Sunday, but Rain or Shine is determined to even the best-of-series.

The PBA postponed Game 2, supposedly schedule on Tuesday, due to inclement weather. The game has been reset on Thursday at 7 p.m. also at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

"We will view the tapes and find ways to counter their defense, especially at the post. Coach Tim Cone really did a good defense against us," said Garcia.

From 18-point down at the half, the E-Painters slowly came to within four points in the third quarter and five points early in the 4th quarter before the Kings unleashed their vaunted defense at the stretch to grab the victory.

Garcia acknowledged that Cone, being the best tactician in the league, has the ability to adjust during the game that paved the way for Ginebra to take Game one.

Garcia said there are still four games left in the series to make adjustment against the Barangay Ginebra.

He also said it's a big challenge for his players to face the league's crowd favorite and feels so good when they beat them in the series.(Zaldy Perez)
