The only thing that matters for Terrence Jones is to end TNT's 4-year title drought

TERRENCE Jones is oblivious to the fact that he has become the yardstick for imports in the PBA Commissioner's Cup.

The former NBA player said it's really none of his business if other teams decide to change imports and try to find one who they think could match up with him.

All he cares about is TnT Katropa's bid to end a four-year title drought.

"I'm not really worried about that (teams changing imports)," he said. "I'm kind of worry about what our team does and that's preparing for each game like we do."

Not a few teams had tapped the services of NBA-caliber imports heading to the conference quarterfinals.

San Miguel earlier brought in first round draft pick Chris McCullough, Magnolia signed former Minnesota Timberwolves' Rakeem Christmas, while Blackwater decided to bring back Greg Smith, the one-time Houston Rocket who was a former teammate of Jones.

Obviously, the 27-year-old Jones of Portland, Oregon had been the benchmark of the rest of the field especially with the way he turned things around for the Katropa.

After Jones took care of business against Christmas and the Hotshots on Wednesday, 98-83, the Katropa clinched the no. 1 seeding heading to the playoffs with their 10-1 (win-loss) mark, the only blemish in their record courtesy of a 110-86 loss to NorthPort.

This marks the first time the Katropa ended up as the top seeded team since the 2016 Governors' Cup under coach Jong Uichico.

The Katropa will now face the winner of the Alaska-Meralco knockout game in the playoffs where they enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage.

"We're just taking it one game at a time like what we did throughout the regular season. Just be focus and make sure that we follow the game plan and just execute," he said of the mindset the Katropa will have going to the playoffs.

As added measure that Jones will be totally focus in the playoffs, TnT management has brought in the import's family from the U.S. including his son Ajani by his former Filipina partner.

"My family is here right now so that's what is important for me," said the leading candidate for the Best Import honor.(RG)
